Casa do Gelado 1981
Forty-five years on Avenida de Roma and almost no reputation outside the neighbourhood. Time Out puts it plainly: Santini and Conchanata have the fame, and this discreet shop beats some of them on pistachio and chocolate. It belongs to a wave of Lisbon gelaterias that opened as the new avenues filled in the seventies and eighties, and it is one of the few still trading.
What to order
The Crepe da Casa, or the pistachio that Time Out rates above the famous houses.
