Kuremal Mohan Lal Kulfi Wale

The clearest documented single-lineage kulfi specialist in Old Delhi, with a named founder, a four-generation chain of custody, and a technique — fruit-stuffed kulfi — that is specific, described in production detail, and distinct from anything in Mumbai's published kulfi records.

What to order
Fruit-stuffed kulfi (orange, pomegranate, custard apple, chikoo, apple or guava, priced around Rs 200 and meant for two, per the ScoopWhoop Hindi profile); saffron-pistachio and salt-spice kulfi named as the oldest and best-selling flavours

What we know

  • Founded 1906 by Karodimal, a milk-and-ghee vendor from Palra village, Jhajjar (Haryana), who began selling rabri and kulfi from a rented Chawri Bazar stall — origin story sourced with names and a village, not a vague claim
  • Fourth generation now runs the business (owner Anil Sharma, 50, per the 2022 profile), with a documented line: Karodimal to son Mohanlal to his sons to the present generation
  • Signature technique named and described: 'fruit-stuffed kulfi' — real fruit hollowed of pulp, refilled with flavoured kulfi mixture, and frozen inside the fruit shell; orange, apple, pomegranate, custard apple (sharifa), chikoo and guava named as the stuffed flavours
  • Own site frames stuffed kulfi as inherently seasonal ('as per season... fresh fruit kulfi')
  • Featured by History Channel per own site's press notice, and covered independently in Hindi press (ScoopWhoop Hindi, 2022)
  • 116-year-old shop (as of the 2022 article) still operating from the same Sitaram Bazar lane named in its founding story, with the original address preserved on the brand's own site
